On October 12, 2006, as after school programs across the country celebrated “Lights On After School” day, Citizen Action of New York called upon Congress to ‘keep the lights on’ by funding afterschool programs.  As part of Lights On, the Afterschool Alliance released a New York report titled Uncertain Times: Funding Insecurity puts Afterschool Programs at Riskand Citizen Action released a new report from the Emergency Campaign for America's Priorities titled "Are We Investing in Our Children? A State-of-the-State Report on Children in New York".
