Work on the Education Campaign!

Citizen Action's Education Campaign needs up to two interns for a variety of tasks to support our advocacy work.

We coordinate work outside of New York City for the Alliance for Quality Education (AQE), a statewide coalition of over 300 organizations. AQE involves parents, children's advocates, schools, teacher, clergy, labor unions, business leaders and other whos believe that every children in New York State deserves a quality education. Our funding priorities are small class sizes, qualified teachers and administrators, clean, safe, and technologicaly up-to-date schools, and pre-Kindergarten programs.

Depending on your interests and the needs of the project, intern responsibilities may include:

• Research on schools towards the production of AQE reports and in answer to information requests by staff and education advocates;
  
• Media work, including the calling of media, and the production of press releases and other press materials;
  
• Mobilizing individuals through calling supporters around the state, and urging them to assist us;
  
• Tabling at public events.

This is an excellent internship opportunity for someone who is interested in a career in organizing, public relations, advocacy, or any other kind of public interest work.
