USAction is Citizen Action's national affiliate -- the nation's largest progressive activist organization -- dedicated to winning social, racial and economic justice for all. USAction fights to win real changes that benefit the vast majority of Americans whose voices are not being heard. Along with health care, education and after-school are priority issues for USAction.

The Afterschool Alliance is a nonprofit organization dedicated to raising awareness of the importance of afterschool programs and advocating for quality, affordable programs for all children. It is supported by a group of public, private and nonprofit organizations that share the Alliance's vision of ensuring that all children have access to afterschool programs by 2010.

The After-School Corporation The After-School Corporation (TASC), a nonprofit organization, was established by the Open Society Institute in April 1998 to enhance the quality, availability, and sustainability of after-school programs in New York City and State and, eventually, across the nation.

The Alliance for Quality Education is both a not-for-profit corporation and the statewide coalition of over 300 organizations of parents, children's advocates, schools, teachers, clergy, labor unions, business leaders and others that Citizen Action of New York helped found. Coalition partners are working hard to assure that every child in New York State has a quality education.

The Campaign for Fiscal Equity is a not-for-profit corporation; a coalition of parent organizations, community school boards, concerned citizens and advocacy groups that seek to reform New York State's school finance system to ensure adequate resources and the opportunity for a sound basic education for all students in New York City. Their efforts will also help secure the same opportunity for students throughout the state who are not currently receiving a sound basic education.

Common Cause regularly publishes investigative studies on the effects of money in politics and reports on a variety of ethics and integrity-in-government issues. These studies and background materials on a wide range of reform issues on the national and state levels can be found on Common Cause's website.

Democracy Matters informs and engages college students and communities in efforts to strengthen our democracy. With campus-based chapters throughout the country, we focus on the issue of private money in politics and other pro-democracy reforms. Democracy Matters in this way encourages the emergence of a new generation of reform-minded leaders.

New York Citizens For Clean Elections is committed to passage of Clean Money Clean Election legislation in New York State that provides a non-partisan approach for full public funding of campaigns for all qualified candidates who refuse private money and abide by spending limits. NYCCE has chapters in the Hudson Valley and continues to grow.

The New York Democracy Project was created in an effort to elect honest politicians who maintain a responsibility to the voters. Gaining the support of voters is the key to having measures passed to encourage Clean Money, Clean Elections statewide. Educating voters about the benefits of politicians who support these reform measures will help to get those politicians elected, and thus further the process of refining our political system.

NYConsumerHealth.org is a web-based consumer guide to healthcare in New York State. Sections include information for families, seniors, children, and immigrants, as well as all public health insurance programs, direct-pay programs, and COBRA extended health coverage. Also available is a comprehensive guide to the rights and protections that New York State grants healthcare consumers.

Families USA
Families USA is a national nonprofit, non-partisan organization dedicated to achieving high-quality, affordable health care for all Americans known for its health policy reports describing the problems facing health care consumers and outlining steps to solve them.

The Fiscal Policy Institute is The Fiscal Policy Institute (FPI) is a nonpartisan research and education organization that focuses on the broad range of tax, budget, economic and related public policy issues that affect the quality of life and the economic well-being of New York State residents. Founded in 1991, FPI's work is intended to further the development and implementation of public policies that create a strong economy in which prosperity is broadly shared by all New Yorkers.

Interfaith IMPACT
Interfaith IMPACT is the progressive religious community's united voice for social change in New York State. It is a coalition of mainstream Protestant, Unitarian-Universalist, and Reform Jewish congregations and individuals that advocates for justice so that its combined voices can be heard clearly. Interfaith IMPACT addresses emerging public policies and their legislative implications in New York State, and uses grassroots advocacy to effect change.

The Kaiser Family Foundation
The Henry J. Kaiser Family Foundation is an independent philanthropy focusing on the major health care issues. This site is an excellent source source of facts, research and analysis for policymakers, the media, the health care community, and the general public.

The Midstate School Finance Consortium is an alliance for the reform of public school funding in New York State, supporting fairness for all children and equity for all taxpayers.

The Moving Ideas Network is an online consortium of more than 120 leading public policy organizations and advocacy groups (including Citizen Action of New York). Since Moving Ideas was founded in 1995, it has served as one of the first stops on the web for journalists, legislators, students, and citizens who want to keep up with the public policy, politics and ideas at leading research and advocacy institutions.

The National Voting Rights Institute is a prominent legal center in the campaign finance reform field. Through litigation and public education, the Institute aims to redefine the issue of private money in public elections as the nation's newest voting rights barrier. The site also offers valuable resources for those concerned about their constitutional rights to participate in a fair and meaningful election process.

Public Campaign is a non-profit, non-partisan organization dedicated to sweeping reform that aims to dramatically reduce the role of special interest money in America's elections and the influence of big contributors in American politics. Public Campaign is laying the foundation for reform by working with various organizations, particularly citizen groups around the country that are fighting for change in their states.

Saratoga Foundation for Women Worldwide is an international, women's human rights organization based in Saratoga Springs, NY. It advances women's human rights and works to promote economic justice, support gender equity education and improve environmental health for women of all ages and backgrounds.
